Liz Saint John grew up in Marin County listening to the great stations of the Bay Area, and soon had her heart set on being a San Francisco Bay Area radio talent like the amazing radio personalities she listened to.
While she was attending U.C. Santa Cruz, Liz worked hard to become a disc jockey and Music Director for the University’s radio station, all while doing weekend shifts at San Rafael’s hometown station, KTIM. Later, Liz was fortunate to get a semester internship working with and learning from the legendary Ben Fong-Torres at KSAN Jive 95.
After following her radio dream to Denver and San Diego, Liz came home to achieve her goal, working in San Francisco for KRQR, “The Rocker”. While at KRQR, News and Public Affairs Director John Evans trained her to fill in for him on occasion. When John moved on, Liz took over the role of News and Public Affairs Director, as well as morning show sidekick for Steven Seaweed, Steven B. Williams, Paul Wells (“The Lobster”) and others. After a format change at KRQR, Liz continued at the new station, called Alice, as Public Affairs Director, eventually performing those duties for several stations within the radio cluster for several years. Liz was also a part-time DJ on Alice, while at the same time successfully operating the Marin Independent Journal’s nonprofit “Giving Marin” program. Later on, Liz accepted the position of News Anchor at KCBS, reuniting with her mentor, John Evans.
