The Bay Area Radio Museum and Hall of Fame (BARHOF) presents archival broadcasts, historical documents, photos, music surveys and biographies that tell the stories of Bay Area radio. Trace the history of radio in the San Francisco Bay Area from its origins in the early 20th Century through its development into a network powerhouse in the 1930s and 1940s and a thriving source of entertainment, news and sports today.

A program of the California Historical Radio Society (CHRS), the Museum celebrates the men and women who helped build the stations and presented the programs that entertained millions of listeners over more than a century.

Our Museum and Hall of Fame are a key feature of CHRS, sharing a home in the magnificent Radio Central building near downtown Alameda, as well as presenting numerous exhibits on this website and celebrating new members of the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame each Fall.
