NBC Radio City, San Francisco
Mosaic Mural Over Main Entrance
This ceramic mural, measuring 16 feet by 40 feet, towers over the entrance to the NBC Radio City Building above the main entrance marquee. It was designed by artist C. J. Fitzgerald to represent the radio industry, and contains 126 different colors of tiles.
The mural was covered during most of the 1970s and ’80s, when KBHK-TV (Channel 44) used the building as its studios. It was uncovered again in the early 1990s, and can be viewed today at the corner of Taylor and O’Farrell Streets in San Francisco.
