Roy Trumbull

Roy Trumbull is widely recognized for his technical expertise as an engineer in both radio and television and for his encyclopedic knowledge of the Bay Area’s broadcasting history.

 A Marin County native, Trumbull worked as an announcer before focusing his technical skills on several stations, including KMPX, KDFC, KBRG, KAFE, KPAT and KRE, where he served as Chief Engineer.

Trumbull later worked at KNEW, then KCBS, where he worked on special projects for CBS. Trumbull later joined San Francisco’s KRON-TV as assistant Chief Engineer. 

Roy Trumbull died in 2013 at age 73.
