Frank Knight’s career at KCBS began before the station’s 1968 shift to the all-news format. The Southern California native had worked at Southland stations including the legendary Tijuana-licensed XETRA before joining KCBS. For many years, he anchored the station’s overnight hours and produced a weekly compendium of KCBS news coverage that aired on weekends.
Frank was an avid collector of radio recordings, many of which are now in the collection of the Bay Area Radio Museum.
He died in 2007 at age 72.
