Ted Wygant spent 37 years at KGO in a variety of roles, serving as anchor, co-anchor, reporter, and news director. His lengthy run with Jim Dunbar as the morning anchor team led KGO to the top of the ratings and earned numerous industry awards.
Wygant’s pre-Bay Area radio resume included stops in Detroit, Cleveland and Erie, PA. His work ranged from reporting to serving as news director. He joined KGO in 1966 and became news director in 1974. That same year, Wygant joined Dunbar on the morning news block.
Ted Wygant died in 2018 at age 84.
