East Bay native Kim Wonderley broke into radio with a behind-the-scenes job at KSFO, working alongside future Hall of Famers Gene Nelson, Carter B. Smith, Russ “The Moose” Syracuse and Al “Jazzbeaux” Collins, for whom she served as producer at KSFO/KYA FM. Then her career literally took flight.
Wonderley spent several years as an airborne traffic reporter before landing on KNBR’s morning show. She played several roles on the station through the Frank and Mike era before forming part of a morning drive time ensemble after Frank Dill‘s retirement.
Wonderley was also part of the morning team with Dave Morey at KFOG in the late ’90s.
After a brief time working as a disc jockey in Portland, Wonderley returned to the Bay Area in 2004 as morning traffic reporter on KCBS. She held that position until her 2024 retirement.
