Dave Morey

BARHOF Inductee Dave Morey 2010

A native of Michigan, Dave Morey was first heard on Bay Area radio in 1980, on KSFX.

His arrival at KFOG in 1982 heralded the station’s ascension to legendary status (indeed, KFOG was named the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame’s Legendary Station for 2019).

Morey played the first song of the new format on KFOG: the Stray Cats’ “Rock This Town”. He created memorable programming elements such as “My Three Songs” and “10@10”. And he wound up having his 20th anniversary at the station proclaimed “Dave Morey Day” by San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.

Morey retired from KFOG on December 19, 2018.
