Dave McQueen grew up in Port Arthur, TX, and began his broadcasting career in his home state.
He played a significant role in the “Gnus Department” at the “Jive 95”-era KSAN, memorably covering the 19-month-long Native American occupation of Alcatraz Island as well as the Patty Heart kidnapping.
McQueen would later deliver the news on KNEW, KFRC, KKCY and KKSF before moving to KCBS, from which he retired in 2009.
Dave McQueen died in 2021 at age 78.
