Debbie Abrams worked in radio in Oroville and Chico before joining Santa Rosa’s KZST, where she spent 27 years as Brent Farris’ sidekick on the morning broadcast.
After Farris retired in September 2023, Abrams continued as the solo host of the program until her retirement in March 2026. Abrams holds degrees from UCLA (English) and Cal State Northridge (Broadcast Journalism).
I hired her in the era of the “giggling co host ” where their job was to laugh at everything that the guy behind the mic said. I wanted a strong woman and At her interview she argued, told me exactly what she thought, and threw back what ever I dished out.
I hired her on the spot.
Over our 20 + years together we bickered, laughed, and each stood our ground every morning. I would love to say I never regretted a moment but that would be a lie.
