San Diego-born Brent Farris graduated from West High School in Torrance, CA and got his start on the North Bay media landscape as a photographer for the Marin Independent Journal. He discovered a love for radio in college and began his radio career working at KTIM in San Rafael. In 1985, Farris joined Santa Rosa’s KZST, where he would be a Sonoma County morning fixture for the next 38 years.
Farris, the longtime program director at KZST in addition to his on-air duties, retired in 2023.
