BARHOF Inductee Celeste Perry 2014

Celeste Perry began her radio career in 1979. Her first job was at KQMQ in her native Honolulu while attending the University of Hawaii.

In 1982 Celeste moved to San Francisco and since then has been a positive presence at numerous stations. Her first mainland break came at KSFO, where she found weekend work.

Her resume also includes 93.3 KYA-FM, Young Country, KKSF, 106.9 KFRC, KBLX, 103.7 The Band and San Jose’s KUFX. During her five-year run hosting middays at Young Country (Perry stayed aboard as KYA-FM became KYCY, dropping oldies for country music), Perry also produced a Sunday night program called Bedtime With Celeste, reading children’s books interspersed with music.

Celeste Perry lives in Mill Valley with her husband Alan and their rescue dog Veto and has been actively involved in animal rescue and pet adoption on her successful show on KOFY TV-20.
