Cammy Blackstone is best known for a fifteen-year run as morning co-host at KFRC.
The Santa Rosa native had experience in Sonoma County cable radio operations before she graduated from San Francisco State University, where she honed her skills on the campus station KSFS. Blackstone worked at KLOK-FM before joining the Frank and Mike Show on KNBR in 1987. She served as a traffic reporter and sidekick to Frank Dill and Mike Cleary.
Blackstone was recruited to join Ron Parker on KFRC in 1993. She stayed with the call letters through the end of KFRC’s AM programming as well as the format shift on the FM side from an “oldies” format to a mix of music from the ’70s and ’80s.
When KFRC’s demise meant radio was being pulled out from under her, Blackstone pivoted. She founded her own media services firm, worked for many years as a legislative aide at San Francisco City Hall, spent time as the deputy director of the San Francisco Entertainment Commission, and joined AT&T as Director of External Affairs in San Francisco.
At the time of her induction to BARHOF, Blackstone was serving as Board Chair of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.
