Bill Ruck

Bill Ruck was selected for induction  by Chapter 40 of the Society of Broadcast Engineers. A native San Franciscan, Ruck started his engineering career in 1972 at KUSF as chief engineer.

He would go on to work at KJAZ, KALW, NPR-West, and Susquehanna Broadcasting for 21 years as Engineer Manager for KFOG, KNBR, KSAN and KTCT.

Starting in 2007, Ruck worked with the Maritime Radio Historical Society maintaining historic radio equipment at former RCA Coastal Marine Station KPH, now part of Point Reyes National Seashore.

Bill Ruck attended UC Berkeley, US Navy AV Class “A” school and John A. O’Connell School in San Francisco. Ruck is widely-known in the broadcast engineering community, having written many helpful and informative articles for Radio World and other publications.
