Ron was described as a “master broadcaster” by longtime KCBS news director Ed Cavagnaro (BARHOF 2014). Reynolds’ voice was his calling card at KEWB, KNEW, KNBR, and in later years at KCBS, where he anchored newscasts and could be heard throughout the day on that station’s imaging. Reynolds served as program director at KNBR. Aside from his on-air and management work, Ron held a rare distinction: he was among the small fraternity of people who could claim to have introduced The Beatles on stage, which he did at the Cow Palace during their 1965 tour.
A native of California’s Central Valley, Ron caught the radio bug as a child, when he was confined to bed for an extended period due to illness. Radio was his companion and the experience gave him the idea for his later work.
Ron Reynolds passed away in February 2022.
