KVRV came into existence in 2003 when owner Maverick Media Group pulled the plug on the long-running oldies format on KMGG. Re-branded as “The River”, the station adopted a classic rock format.
Danny Wright arrived in 2006 and began a lengthy run as morning host and program director.
