“The Krush 95.9” has occupied the 95.9 slot on the dial in Sonoma County since 2002. The station has been known for its “adult album alternative” (AAA) format.
This version of KRSH came into being when owners Wine Country Radio swapped call letters with their FM station broadcasting from Geyserville on the 98.7 frequency. Wine Country Radio, run by Fred and Mary Constant of Calistoga, had been acquired by Bob Sinclair’s Sinclair Communications (not related to TV station giant Sinclair Inc.) in 2001.
Prior call letters for the station were KSXY (1999-2002) and KHBG, the call letters assigned to the station when it went on the air in 1996.
Noteworthy air talent has included Bill Bowker, Bob Sala, David Gross, and Brian Griffith.
