Since 2022, Los Gatos’ only full-power radio station has been known as “K-LOVE”. Bearing the call letters KJLV, the station is part of the portfolio of stations assembled by the Educational Media Foundation, a 501 (C)(3) not-for-profit organization.
The Educational Media Foundation was launched in Santa Rosa in 1982 by a former KFRC disc jockey named Bob Anthony Fogel. Now based in Rocklin, CA, the organization purchased KRTY from Empire Broadcasting for $3.1 million. Empire was winding down its business after the death of its longtime head Bob Kieve in late 2020.
KJLV carries the Educational Media Foundation’s K-LOVE programming service, a mixture of Contemporary Christian music and religious ministry tied together under the slogan “Positive, Encouraging K-LOVE”.
The station provides two additional flavors of its programming on HD Radio channels: K-LOVE 90s and K-LOVE POP!
