Tony Salvadore

BARHOF Inductee Tony Salvadore 2012

Tony Salvadore began his career in broadcasting as a radio salesman in upstate New York.

After stops in Akron, Detroit and Chicago, he was named general sales manager at KFOG in 1982, as the station made its transition from “beautiful music” to rock.

When General Electric sold KFOG to Susquehanna Broadcasting in 1983, Salvadore became General Manager of the station cluster: KFOG, KNBR, and KSAN (“107.7 The Bone”). Salvadore’s 25 years at the helm included ratings success for all three stations.

He was Senior Vice President and market manager when the stations were acquired by Cumulus Media in 2006.

Salvadore was let go in a corporate shakeup in 2009.
