Born in Mansfield, LA, Rosie Lee Allen broke into Bay Area broadcasting in 1969, working in the programming department at KNEW.
She was first heard on the air at KNBR and then KSFX before shifting to KGO, where she would spend more than 25 years as afternoon news co-anchor, winning numerous awards and earning top ratings.
Allen also spent several years working on KGO-TV’s Marketplace program.
She is an alumnus of Oakland’s Holy Names University.
