Kenny Wardell did it all (radio, TV, and print), mostly behind the scenes, and had a powerful and lasting impact. Kenny was well-known as the Director of Publicity and Public Relations at KTVU in Oakland for many years.
He also had an illustrious career in Bay Area radio, serving as assistant program director and public relations director at KFOG. He was an on-air personality and promotions director at KMEL. Wardell also worked for a time as marketing director at KCBS. He was also heavily involved in the KSAN “Jive 95” documentary film project “Something in the Air: A Rock Radio Revolution”, and in recent years, he was senior managing director at BAM: Bay Area Music Magazine, which he had resurrected as an online San Francisco-centric music magazine in 2011. Kenny passed away in 2024.
