Jona Denz-Hamilton

BARHOF Inductee Jona Denz-Hamilton 2025

Jona Denz-Hamilton has been heard on numerous Santa Clara Valley radio stations in a broadcasting career that spans more than fifty years.

It all began at Foothill College’s KFJC, where Denz-Hamilton switched from avid radio listener to broadcaster. That college DJ experience led to paying work at the legendary 98.5 KOME in San Jose.

Denz-Hamilton spent nearly nine years at KOME, working side by side with the wild and creative staff including fellow BARHOF inductees Mikel Hunter, Dennis Erectus, Dana Jang, and Laurie Roberts. It was an era of strong ratings for KOME.

Denz-Hamilton would leave KOME  for programming gigs in Carmel/Monterey and later,  Sacramento.

She returned to  San Jose where she joined KLOK as afternoon drive host. After KLOK was sold, she joined another San Jose station, KEEN.  Her work there began with weekend air shifts and weekday traffic updates on KEEN and co-owned KBAY until she landed a full-time gig on KBAY.
