Aaron Edwards

BARHOF Inductee Aaron Edwards 2007

Aaron Edwards was born in Bronx, NY.  He began his radio career at KSRO in 1945.

He joined KSFO in 1956, staying with the station through its golden years and playing many roles.

As morning news anchor, Edwards served for many years as the foil to unpredictable KSFO morning man Don Sherwood, occasionally filling in for Sherwood on short notice. Edwards also hosted the station’s Sunday Sounds program, and  is credited with conceiving the melody for “Bye Bye Baby,” KSFO’s theme song for San Francisco Giants baseball broadcasts.

After KSFO changed hands in 1983, Edwards shifted to television, working as a reporter at KGO-TV until his 1991 retirement.

Aaron Edwards died in 2010 at age 90.
