South Bay native Lissa Kreisler started her career at KLOK-AM in the news department after graduating from San Jose State University with a BA in Journalism.
After a ten-year stay doing mornings, covering news and traffic as part of a three-person show, KLOK-AM switched formats and Lissa jumped over to KBAY and KEEN, starting with news and then adding the title of Morning Show Co-Host at each of these stations. When KEEN went off the air in 1992, Lissa devoted her entire radio time to KBAY, staying there for 30 years.
Being involved in the community was always Lissa’s priority so her 40 years in San Jose radio led to a number of roles helping others in the Silicon Valley. Lissa had a number of radio partners over her 40 years in the business but the most successful partnership was her 12 years co-hosting the KBAY morning show with with fellow BARHOF member Sam Van Zandt (BARHOF 2014). The Lissa-Sam show put KBAY on top of the San Jose ratings.
