Renel Brooks-Moon

Renel Brooks-Moon is an Oakland native who graduated from Mills College.

She first found work in radio as administrative assistant to the news director at KCBS. An opening in the sales department at KFRC led to another job at “The Big 610”, in the public affairs department.  Brooks-Moon hosted a public affairs show and then, calling herself “Rocking Renel”, was first heard as a DJ.

A format change at KFRC led Renel to KMEL and then KISQ (KISS FM).

In 2000, she was hired by the San Francisco Giants to serve as public-address announcer at the team’s new stadium, then known as Pacific Bell Park. Renel would serve as the team’s stadium voice for the next 24 years.
