Mike Colgan

BARHOF Inductee Mike Colgan 2015

News reporter Mike Colgan built a career out of shoe leather and hustle. He was a big part of the Bay Area radio scene for years, covering most of the top news stories in the region.

He began his career at KFRC, parts of the lauded “20/20” news team during KFRC’s “Big 610” heyday.

Colgan’s resume also included some DJ work at James Gabbert’s KPEN, but he’s best known for the work he did after joining KCBS as a news reporter in 1988. In 33 years at KCBS, Colgan interviewed luminaries like Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama and covered stories big and small, including  numerous Super Bowls, World Series and NBA Championships.

Colgan retired from KCBS and moved to Arizona in 2020.
