
Don Curran was born in Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma.
After launching his broadcasting career in Oklahoma and serving in the United States Air Force, Curran spent more than 30 years in broadcast management. In the Bay Area, he served as General Manager of KGO radio and KGO-TV. He is considered the driving force in launching and growing KGO Radio’s news-talk format after going KGO in 1962.
Curran served two terms as President of the California Broadcasters Association. In 1983, he was named winner of the California Broadcasters Association Outstanding Achievement Award
Don Curran died in 2011 at the age of 82.
