Dan Rusanowsky arrived in the Bay Area when the San Jose Sharks entered the National Hockey League in 1991. He was one of the first people hired by the Sharks organization and at the time of his induction, was the only radio play-by-play voice ever employed by the Sharks.
Rusanowsky is a native of Milford, CT who received his undergraduate degree at St. Lawrence University and his MBA at Clarkson University. His early play-by-play work included many seasons handling St. Lawrence University hockey as well as New Haven Nighthawks minor league hockey.
In addition to calling the action, Rusanowsky has been the producer of Sharks radio broadacsts.
Though he is acknowledged as one of hockey’s most recognizable voices, Rusanowsky has handled play-by-play and studio duties for other sports, including auto racing, roller hockey, and indoor football.
Rusanowky has also served as guest host on KNBR as well as the nationally syndicated “Sports Byline USA”.
