Join the Bay Area Radio Museum and Hall of Fame (BARHOF) and San Francisco State University’s Department of Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts (BECA) for an up-to-the-minute session with a panel of working broadcast professionals discussing where we are with broadcast media, and what’s next!
You’ll hear from industry leaders Ramona Gutierrez, Promotions Director for iHeart Media; Emery Hudson, KQED Engineering; Ron Nenni, programming veteran for Sirius XM/Pandora and Bay Area radio stations; and others to be announced. The moderator for the panel is Rosie Lee Allen, former Afternoon News Anchor for KGO Radio and On-Air Host for ABC7 TV.
Radio & TV For Real: Now & Next will explore topics including: what is the benefit of working in traditional media such as radio and TV when becoming a content creator could be as easy as picking up a microphone and a camera? Will AI replace announcers, anchors, and reporters? If traditional media are cutting down on the number of jobs available, what are the future opportunities in radio and TV?
Tickets are free for college students with a valid student ID (students must pre-register to attend), and $30.00 for the public. $30 ticket holders are all entered into a drawing for a Bluetooth-enhanced vintage radio. All tickets include a sandwich buffet and beverages. Parking at San Francisco State University is available, with two paid parking lots right next to the Seven Hills Conference Center.
