KSJO Stereo 92, San Jose
Super SJO Hit Survey

Week Ending January 23, 1975

KSJO Music Survey (1975)

ABOVE: The KSJO (92.3 FM) survey of “San Jose’s Stereo Hits” this week includes Barry Manilow — spelled here as “Manilo” — at number one with his first chart-topper, “Mandy.” Other staples of Seventies Top 40 radio populate the list as well, with Elton John, the Doobie Brothers, the Carpenters, Paul McCartney & Wings, Billy Joel and Helen Reddy also making the top twenty.

This version of “Super SJO” is vastly different from the heavier album-rock KSJO that many listeners recall from the station’s heyday.

In January 1975, “San Jose’s Favorite Jocks” at KSJO are listed as J. Parker Antrim (mornings), Bob Michaels (middays; actually Bob Kohtz, later of KBAY), Mark Allen (afternoons), Edd Mason (evenings), Chris Lance (all night), and Mike Parker and Jeff Serr (weekends).

BELOW: The exterior of the survey, showing a photo of Dr. Demento (Sunday nights at 10 p.m.) and the KSJO logo.
