KKSJ 1370 AM San Jose, CA

KKSJ’s brief life came after the shutdown of KEEN. Station owner United Broadcasting took the station “dark” for several months in 1993 and 1994, returning to the airwaves with a pop standards format and branding itself “Magic 1370”, an obvious nod to KFRC’s “Magic 61”.

In January 1997, United Broadcasting sold KKSJ to American Radio Systems, which did away with local programming in favor of syndicated content and promptly flipped the station to Douglas Broadcasting.

In January 1998, the call letters were changed to KZSF and Spanish-language programming took over.
