A program schedule from Oakland’s KEWB from March 1961, featuring the station’s mobile news unit at the scene of a (hopefully) staged accident on the front cover. KEWB’s weekday schedule at this time includes Ken Knox (6 to 9 a.m.), Bill Enis (9 a.m. to noon), Gary Owens (noon to 3 p.m.), Chris Borden (3 to 6 p.m.), Buck Herring (6 to 9 p.m.), Jim Wayne (9 p.m. to midnight) and Michael Jackson (midnight to 6 a.m.), with “Big Bay Bannerlines” at 25 minutes past each hour and KEWB News and Sports at 55 minutes after the hour. Saturdays feature Owens in the morning, with the KEWB Fabulous Forty broadcast twice on Sundays — once from 6 to 10 a.m. and again from 8 p.m. to midnight.
