KDIA Lucky 13, Oakland
Top 25 Music Survey #185

January 8, 1965

Marvin Gaye’s “How Sweet It Is” takes the #1 spot on the KDIA Top 25 music survey for January 8, 1965. The station, still located in the old “Radio Village” complex near Lake Merritt, will move later in the year to new studios near the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza.

Billed as “The Voice of Today” on this survey, but perhaps better known by its “Lucky 13” slogan, KDIA could claim at this time one of the finest announcing teams to ever grace the Bay Area’s airwaves, including Rosko (William Roscoe Mercer), George Oxford, Belva Davis, Roland Porter, Don Barksdale and John Hardy.

ORIGINAL SIZE: 8-1/2×14 inches.
