A picture postcard of Foreman Bill Mackintosh, featuring his greeting (“Thanks Cousin”) and autograph on the reverse. The Foreman worked the wake-up shift on KYA (1260 kc.) in the mid-1940s, usually from 6 to 8:30 a.m. on weekdays, playing country and western music along with time checks and the weather. Other local radio stations also aired similar “folksy” programs targeted for the still-sizeable farm and agricultural community in the Bay Area, including Dude Martin (KYA and KGO), Western Farm Home (KROW) and Sagebrush Serenade (KPO).

ORIGINAL SIZE: 3.5×5.5 inches.
SOURCE: Bay Area Radio Museum Collection.
